Falas
A small planet 5’800 light years away from Earth.
1 Earth year = 1.4 Falas year
Climates consist of, hot, dry deserts, humid rain forests, polar ice caps. It has a large land mass and small bodies of seas between the ice caps. Few islands and low lands with high mountains on the main lands mass.
Land mass wraps around the equator and spreads out towards the poles.
Only snows high in the mountains or constantly at the poles.
Sustains life such as mammals, insects, crustacean, fish, and reptiles. Reptiles are the dominate species. Dragons being the largest on the planet.
Species - Deltarian
The dominate species of the planet Falas. They are reptile and stand on their back legs like a human, with shoulders, arms and a tail. They have geckoish features, large colourful eyes with hard scales to match their environment, usually, green for forest areas, brown or red for desert and a white, grey or pale colour for built up cities and towns.
Their government is similar to a communist government. This government controls the whole planet. (No separate countries.)
They are an advanced race with communication and weapons technology, and land travel. No air travel. They rely on the use of dragons for travelling long distances in the air.
They also rely on dragons and their Gliders for protection against threats to their way of life. Threats come from wild dragons, revolutionists and deserted Gliders.
Species - Glider
A version of the Deltarian species. Born to Deltarians with the Glider gene. They are a kickback to the early race of Deltarian which flew with dragons.
They are slimmer, lighter bones, stronger scales and a membrane under their arms and down their sides for gliding from heights.
Glider eggs are discovered by their lightness, can also be mistaken for no embryo inside at early stages of development.
Deltarian’s carrying the Glider gene are watched closely by the hospitals and government. When their clutch is laid, they are inspected for the possibility of a Glider. If discovered the egg is taken away to be hatched and raised on the Dragon Glider Air Force base.
It is a mother’s duty if she discovers a light egg, to inform the hospital so they can send technicians around to check. If not informed and the Glider is hatched and not reported the mother can faces fines or even serve time in prison.
A Glider is paired with a dragon at hatching. Like all Deltarian’s they are born with white scales. Instead of changing colour to their surroundings, they take on their paired dragons colour.
Once mature enough the Glider and paired dragon are trained to fly with other squadrons and protect the Deltarian race from any threats against their way of life.
The Deltarian government see the Gliders as a lesser species, controlling them with strict laws and using them to control the Deltarian and Dragon population.
Species –Dragon
Large four legged winged lizard.
Colours, size and abilities vary between the different types and the habitat they originate from.
They are the largest species on their planet, and one of the most intelligent, second to Deltarians.
A captive dragon, even though in knows no other life and even agrees with the Deltarian way of life, will not breed. So their eggs are taken from the wild, before they hatch.
The Deltarians use them for transport and protection, some of the smaller species are kept as pets if they hatched within the Deltarian world. If found in the wild, they do not care for the Deltarian ways as the lizard people eggnap from them and use their species as slaves.
Dragon will usually leave the Deltarians alone and stay away from the Deltarian’s larger populations, but will attack if provoked.
A Paired dragon can communicate to their other half by their own created frequency. Very rarely they will create another frequency that others can hear. Usually it will be a frequency only other dragons can pick up.
Some types of dragons.
Mountaineer
Lives high in the mountains where they blend into rocky areas. Their scales are thick and fire retardant. There legs are short and wings large, built to jump from ledge to ledge and climb mountains when not flying. The warmth from the fire with in keep them warm at high altitudes. They have a long distance coloured eyesight for hunting their prey
Wingspan - 8m – 10m
Colour - Grey with black dorsal spikes.
Abilities - Fire, mostly red, sometimes blue. And smoke.
Forester
A small nimble, fast flying dragon. The smallest a Glider can ride. They are a master in camouflage, using both water and forest foliage to hide themselves. They are a very timid dragon, but when cornered they can be very nasty and fend their predators off. (Other dragons)
Wingspan - 5m – 6m
Colour - Pale green to dark green.
Abilities - Boling/hot water and steam.
Large Forester
Even for the size they are rarely seen and never sought out because of the diet; other dragons. Though equip with large wings, once half grown they only fly if they desperately need to. They prefer to stick to the ground.
Wingspan – 40m
Colour - Pale green to dark green.
Abilities - Boling/hot water and steam.
Desert Dweller
A large dragon who lives in the desert plains. They spend most of their time hovering in the sky with their large wings searching the plains below.
They hold water inside them so they don’t need to leave the barren lands often. They are a hot dragon, but are not fire retardant like their Mountaineer and Volcanic relations, but their scales are heat reflective to protect themselves from high doses of heat and radiation.
Wingspan - 15m – 18m
Colour - Yellow
Abilities - Heat and ignition. (Creates sparks with gas and heat. Works with the oxygen in the air to blow stuff up.)
Aqua
Live in deep seas and lakes. There large thin wing can close tight into their bodies so they can dive through water and swim. They won’t touch read meat, preferring fish over all other foods. Even though cold blooded, they can are still active in cold temperatures by causing friction in their scales to keep themselves warm will in the water.
Wingspan - 12m -14m
Colour - Pale blue to dark blue.
Abilities - Cold water and Ice.
Bog
Live in forest and marsh areas. They cover themselves with mud to hide their scaly hide. They have the strongest jaw out of all the dragon species. They are able to crunch metals and rock and also break through any obstacles in the way if given enough time.
Wingspan - 7m - 8m
Colour - Brown.
Abilities - Cold and Hot water.
Volcanic
The most size variant dragon. They live in or around volcanoes able to withstand large amounts of heat and are fire retardant. They are extremely hot, even the air around them distorts with heat. Protection is needed for any one riding. They are not used in the DGAF due to their highly aggressive burning nature.
Wingspan -12m – 20m
Colour - Red and with black dorsal spikes.
Abilities - Fire, blue and red. Heat and ignition.
Cavern
A dragon that doesn’t frequently wonder out of the cave systems in large mountain areas. They build the tunnels underground themselves with their hot breath. There wings are adjustable, depending on what space is available to fly in. The can see extremely well in the dark, but when there is no light available, they use sonic waves to see and also communicate with other Cavern dragons. Their sonic waves can also be used as a weapon to blast the eardrums of other species, even kill.
Wingspan - adjustable 5, 10, 15 metres depending on space available.
Colour - Black.
Abilities - Fire, red and blue. Sonic soundwaves.
