The writing process blog tour.

Juli Caldwell asked if I wanted to join the blog tour. I immediately agreed, I loved her answers to the questions and thought I can do this! So here is my post of the writing process blog tour. I hope it is as enlightening as hers! This is weeks late, but I got it up here. Finally!

What are you working on?

I think the answer to this question worries my mother. She asks a similar question every time she speaks to me. Not what are you working on. But how many are you working on. The fact that I’m writing four stories. All unfinished, freaks her out a little. What can I say. I get bored with the same plot, characters and new ones are always exciting!
So to answer the question.
First - I’m over half way through the draft for Dragon Tails part 2. My fantasy/sci-fi novel.
Second – Stained White. The second one is a paranormal teen story about a girl who can transform into an African Wild dog.
Third - is a werewolf one fore Wattpad, since they are all the rage there, but not this one. I have placed it on hold, but that doesn’t mean plot lines won’t creep into my brain at unexpected times.
Fourth – Sixth Extinction. Another sci-fi novel with a half draft. Try to write a short 50’000 word story for NaNoWriMo and I get half way through the plot and realise I’m already there.

I also have another story plotting its way around my twisted mind as I type this. Did I say another. Or heaps! I must force myself to finish these four first! And maybe edit the other two I’ve written and completed. One day!

How does your work differ from others of its genre?

Differ, Hmmm. I try to come up with something completely new. It’s hard. I don’t bother with making a plot extremely different to others. I think it always has to be relatable in some way and not too confusing. What hasn’t been done before that’s not as confusing as Daffy Duck being able to remove his beak and still talk?
I also write a wide range of genres. All following the same kind of rule. Make something new up within the story to keep it different. Creatures. All my stories have strange creatures that only exist in my own strange reality.

Why do you write what you do?

I write to escape everyday life. I don’t write for an audience. But do get a kick out of people saying they enjoy my work, which is why they are now available and slowly edited for other people to read.
I started writing because my imagination is wild! Very wild, and I have some great ideas that I wish to keep and tell and re-read when I forget what I’ve written. I think that is my greatest amusement!

How does your writing process work?

An idea comes at anytime. I create plot points and maybe write a few scenes to start it off. (These could be halfway through the story) I plan a little. Make out a rough timeline and to keep the characters straight. Not a strict plan, more like a guide which usually gets scribbled all over and moved around many times. Mostly my ideas and future events and plot arcs appear on the screen without me even thinking about it too much. My novels write themselves, I swear!

Then I edit… Things of nightmares I tell ya! Especially when more ideas pop up and have to be added in just because they demand to make an appearance. Again, my novels write themselves!
